sb: Mistress Tara thank You SOO much for this interview! i am a big fan of Yours! Please tell us a little about Your background. Where are You originally from?

MT: I was born in New York City but my family lived abroad until I was 6 when we returned to the states.

sb: How Were You introduced to The Scene?

MT: It depends on what you mean. I had BDSM fantasies as early as 5 but the first fetishistic experience I can remember was when I was 21. I was having sex with a lover and he started licking my feet. It drove me absolutely wild!

sb: Where did You start Professionally?

MT: The first commercial dungeon I worked in was Gateway. Both Myself and Mistress Shane started there. I didn't care for the commercial scene at that time and went independent for about 5 years

sb: Oh yes i know Mistress Shane well! This might seem like a dumb question because You look so forceful and authoritative to me, but were You ever submissive?

MT: Well, that's a rather personal question, but I have no secrets. I believe that everyone switches for someone, and anyone who tells you different is lying to either you or themselves. The Den of Iniquity (My dungeon) is a classic, European style dungeon so we of course have all Mistresses with less then 5 years experience start as submissives and work their way up.

I expect nothing more or less from My Mistresses then I would do myself. So here you have it: After being independent for 5 years I found myself in a serious personal relationship in which we were living together. Throwing my lover out every time I had a session was becoming a strain on the relationship.

So, I decided to go back to Mistressing in the Dungeons, where I apprenticed with Mistress Carrie (Not of arena Blaze) and was her submissive for about a year. At that time she had 10 years experience, so it was natural for me to submit to her superior knowledge of the arts. S&M is very much an exercise in Darwinism. The weaker submit to the stronger. It is rare nowadays that I meet someone stronger then Myself.

sb: i certainly believe that! How old were You when You started Professionally?

MT: Offcially, I'd say 21.

sb: Please describe Your style of Domination?

MT: I am a strict, lifestyle Mistress. I take total control in my sessions. I don't do any fantasy role-play and I except no requests. I am interested in meeting men and woman who are genuinely submissive, who are there for their Mistress's pleasure and believe that slavery is it's own reward. I enjoys all aspects of S&M but I decide when, where, and with whom.

Slave sessioning with me have no control over what happens to them and I do not use safe words. I am, however, a firstly a Domina and secondly Sadist. I generally starts with corporal punishment. If the slave is obedient and well behaved I like to get into a more sensual, erotic session. This might consist of foot and leg worship, forced body worship, smothering, teasing and denial, OTK and prolonged erotic torture.

If the slave is difficult, stubborn or can't follow instructions, I get into a heavier, more corporal type scene. However, I tolerate absolutely no bottom manipulation. For example; You will not be able to obtain a heavier spanking by fucking up on purpose. All slaves who exhibit SAM behavior may be made to sit in the corner, ignored, or worstly; abandoned.

sb: What is Your favorite type of scene?

MT: Prolonged slave and obedience training with erotic torture with a personal slave or one I have a long history with. Some of the best moments in an SM relationship are very subtle. There can be no real crime and punishment without shared history.

sb: Please tell me the most intense scene You ever did?

MT: Actually, that was quite recently. It had come to my attention that a certain slave had done something dishonest. It was very difficult for me because she is a woman, a woman I care for quite deeply, and a very beautiful and manipulative submissive.

Her name is Cheryl Lynn Kahn (AKA Cheryl Dynasty) and she is petite (4'10), 20 year old Asian girl. I knew she had done it because she craved more attention and this was the only way she knew how to get it. I also knew she had to be punished severely and that she was a masochist so punishment might seem a reward to her.

She came to the Den of Iniquity to feature during a couple of weeks while I was in Los Angeles. Coincidentally, Master Rick Savage called and said He was interested in shooting a video of us for Noose. Here was my opportunity! To capture her punishment on film for the whole world to see!

What could be more humiliating for her? It would be a surprise; she would think it would be just one of the many role-plays we had shot together in the past, and it would be in fact, a real punishment; her personal life displayed forever for all the world to see!

I told Rick to tell her nothing, he laughed in agreement. The weeks before I avoided her calls. She would not see or speak to me until the cameras were rolling. That day I walked onto the set, hung weights from her nipples, put her in a full Japanese, rope bondage, body harness; affixed her to My stretching rack and proceeded to cane the bottoms of her feet for a full hour, while My assistant Arianna teases a played with her small perky breasts & nipples.

I started with Rattan canes, than moved up to sugar canes and finally to nylon and plastic and yet she would not confess; nor would she say mercy. She cried and cried but I could not get it out of her. Finally I realized that she would let me beat her until her feet were just two bloody stumps, but she would never confess.

With that, I left the set, left the dungeon, got on a plane and left New York flying back to Los Angeles. I haven't seen her since.

sb: Wow that is intense! Can You tell me the most humiliating thing You ever did to a slave?

MT: Two occasions come to mind. One, was with a prominent director who was my personal slave. He was known in the industry to be a real hard-ass, ball-busting prick to his talent. He often made his actresses run crying from the set.

I happened to know an actress that had worked for him. So one night, while I was fucking him up the ass with my trusty strap on, I arranged to have her stop by and witness his predicament. I said, "So who's calling the shot's now, Mr. Big-time director," and laughed as I plunged it in harder. My friend, was of course, delighted.

The other occasion was in the form of a test. My personal slave, 1407 had been serving me for about 2 years at that point. I needed to know if he could be trusted with personal information in order to promote him to the next level. I did not tell him the context of this but told him to expect a test in the coming weeks.

I had given him a fake home phone number some weeks previous. A month later I instructed Mistresses Syren and Lolita to see if they could extract this number from him. I told them that they could use any method available to them, but if they permanently damaged him in some way that they would be responsible and have to answer to me.

To my disappointment, Lolita was quickly successful by employing trickery. She made up some absurd emergency story, as to needing to reach me right away and cried 1407 was unable to resist her tears. So I had two problems: 1) He had failed 2) Mistress Lolita had employed trickery over torture.

I find trickery to be a quality unbefitting a superior being. They both had to be punished, and actually, both sought punishment as they were all feeling very guilty about what they had done. Thus the solution: 1407 was a cross-dresser and a sissy-maid. I confronted him in front of Mistresses Lolita and Syren with not only his failure but the knowledge that he had not immediately reported this instance to me and had been keeping a secret from me for some weeks.

I told all of them that it was not my duty to relieve them of their guilt, but that I would endeavor, out of the goodness of my heart, to make my best effort to help them find repentance. So for their sins, 1407 would administer a caning to both of them.

They had the option to refuse it, and live with their misdeeds and the knowledge of my disappointment in their behavior. He was not to take any pleasure in doing so, he was merely acting as an extension of my will. If he did not do it hard enough, I would do it. And believe it, no one wanted that.

They were all crying. It was quite delightful. Then I had him march in his full regalia into the Mistress's lounge. Then in front of all of the Mistresses of the Den, I stripped him of his uniform, knocked the cap off his had and revoked his cross-dressing privileges until further notice.

This was just the beginning of a punishment that lasted for several months. Just a little something to give you the flavor of it.

sb: Wow that is a great story! So You enjoy working with crossdressers?

MT: I think I've answered that question as well, but let me add this to it. I pay very close attention to the manner in which a cross-dresser behaves when transformed and how he hopes to be treated. Because the way he acts and how he desires to be treated illustrates their perceptions of women.

It is very telling. I don't play with woman-haters. I also will not "force" a slave to engage with another slave. I will not be the excuse in a slave 's mind that he uses to continue thinking of himself as straight. I am nobody's crutch; I do not help them or Myself by engaging in such play.

For that matter I don't do any type of professional "forced scenes" in general. You either willingly submit or you serve someone else. The worst thing you can do to a slave is make him (her) responsible for his (her) own thoughts and deeds.

sb: Do You enjoy watersports?

MT: I love it all. It, as all things, depends on my whim.

sb: Yes a stupid question to say the least. i apologize Mistress. i know what a lavish wardrobe You have. What is the greatest thrill You get from Domination?

MT: Power is the first word that comes to mind, but upon deeper analysis of the word and Myself it is not entirely accurate. Power involves some ego, which is unnecessary baggage I rid myself of long ago. Control is a better description and something I have no choice in doing because none can do it better. If there was such a person, I would gladly give it up.

The truly dominant individual does so, ultimately out of necessity - not choice. We cannot resist. This may seem contradictory but many truths appear so on the surface. In S&M, you must look deeper.

sb: Do you session with novices?

MT: I prefer novices; they come with baggage, can be easily trained, and I don't have to break them of any bad habits.

MT: Shopping, smoking, reading, writing, painting, antiquing, negotiating deals, destruction of egos and travel to exotic places.
