sb: Mistress Vinyl Queen thank You VERY much for this interview! Being as You are one of the top Mistresses in the world, i know how busy You are. Please tell us a little about Your background. Where are You originally from?

MVQ: I am originally from the southern tip of the Bay Area. I would prefer to not reveal the exact city due to still having family there.

sb: I understand You attended Berkeley. Did You enjoy Your time there?

MVQ: I enjoyed my time there but I was a bit too young to fully experience everything that Cal had to offer. I firmly believe that it is an institution best suited for those in the latter part of their undergraduate degree or graduate students.

sb: How Were You introduced to The Scene?

MVQ: I had been into BDSM privately for many years before I learned of The Scene. After the break up of a relationship, I felt like I wanted to see what else was out there. A friend told me about one of the local fetish clubs and I started to attend on a regular basis. It was through the folks I met there that I became aware of The Scene, who was in It, and what It was all about.

sb: Where did You start Professionally?

MVQ: I hate to say it, but my own residence. I didn't have a very big place and I had ZERO dungeon equipment. Thus, the sessions I conducted were mostly about role-playing, mild corporal discipline, and lots of foot worship.

sb: Yes, Your feet are really beautiful. :) Have You always worked as an independent Mistress?

MVQ: I have always worked as an Independent. When I first became interested in Professional Domination, everyone told me that the ONLY way to get into it was to apprentice to another Mistress or work in an House. I decided I was going to get into it MY way and I forged my career by myself from day one.

sb: Yes and You certainly have been successful! This might seem like a dumb question because You look so forceful and authoritative to me, but were You ever submissive?

MVQ: Thank you for that comment about my appearance. That “look” used to get me in a lot of trouble when I was younger... I first began exploring BDSM as more of a Bottom... as many Professional Dominants do.

I was always too much of a brat to be labeled as submissive. This was always in the context of a relationship and never with random players. I know now that those early experiences were really me just trying to get what I wanted under the wrong terms. Now I get what I on the proper end of a whip...

sb: How old were You when You started Professionally?

MVQ: I was 27 years of age.

sb: Where did You get Your training?

MVQ: I did not train under any one Mistress. Rather, I took many classes about the areas of BDSM that I wasn't quite proficient at.

sb: Are there other Mistresses You admire in the scene?

MVQ: I would have to say that Ilsa Strix and Petra Saint are the two who I admire the most. Ilsa was very kind to me when I first started as a Pro-Domme. She invited me to join Prodomination.com and then graciously allowed me to stay with her and use her dungeon during my first trip to LA.

I made many connections during that trip and I will be forever grateful to her. Anyone who has ever met Ilsa knows that she is a great friend and professional contact to have. I feel privileged to have interacted with her as I have. Petra Saint is a legend in San Francisco. I admire her for her business practices and no-nonsense approach to Professional Domination.

She is one of the few Mistresses I know who has made a name for herself without a major website, videos, or heavy travel schedule. Granted, she DID get into The Scene before the advent of the Internet, but she didn't jump on the bandwagon like so many others did a few years ago. I can only hope to have a modicum of her lifetime of success.

sb: Yes i have had the honor of interviewing Mistress Ilsa and hope to also interview Mistress Petra as i know She is also one of the top Mistresses in the country. Please describe Your style of Domination?

MVQ: I think it’s fair to say that my style is wickedly strict but playful when necessary.

sb: i agree with that. :) What is Your favorite type of scene?

MVQ: My favorite type of scene is one that combines alternating doses of corporal discipline and foot/leg worship. I enjoy just straight corporal, but I am even better at it when I can take a few minutes to “recharge” while my feet are given some respite from my heels or boots.

sb: Please tell me the most intense scene You ever did?

MVQ: The most intense scene I have ever had occurred this year (2001). I have a client who is into heavy corporal discipline, specifically paddling. After seeing him for a few sessions over the past two years, we decided that it was time to really crank up the intensity. I knew that he was a heavy player, but I never knew HOW heavy.

We only met for an hour, but during that time I paddled him until he bled small droplets of blood on his buttocks. I felt so “on” during our time together that it was like being on another world. Every blow seemed to hit its mark perfectly and all I wanted to do was use more and more toys as time went on.

The most intense part of this particular scene was that we were both reacting to each other as we never had before. I have had other sessions where I have been the one really into it, but the client hasn't been and probably vice versa. The fact that BOTH of us were feeling such an intense rush is what made this scene one of my best ever!

sb: Sounds awesome! Can You tell me the most humiliating thing You ever did to a slave?

MVQ: Humiliation is so often in the eyes of the beholder. I have done things to slaves that they have enjoyed but that to the outside observer was very humiliating. I have also done things that NO ONE knew about but the slave felt was very humiliating.

Thus, I will pick the more obvious instance and discuss it here: One of my best slaves lives out of state, but he comes to see me whenever he can. During one of these trips, he booked an appointment with me and another Mistress. At one point in the session, our activities turned to those of a more penetrating nature.

We tightly secured him to the spanking horse so that there was no way he could escape. Then we placed a blind fold on him so that he wouldn't know who was doing what to him. The other Mistress and I decided that we were really going to show him what two women armed with dildos could do and we thus filled up both of his orifices at the same time. First I had his mouth, and she his behind, then vice versa.

This was truly a gang bang! He was completely powerless and he couldn't even see who his attackers were. He knew both of us were in the room, but only our voices indicated what was going on. To this day, he still grins when we talk about that session!

sb: Great scene! How about public humiliation. Do You get into that?

MVQ: I enjoy public humiliation once I've had some time with a slave. I would much rather know his reaction curve before we venture out into an uncontrolled environment. Once I am comfortable with a slave, I am open to many different types of public humiliation from playing at a place like the Power Exchange, to shopping trips for items that would make most men blush.

sb: Q. I know crossdressing is a specialty of Yours. Do You enjoy these type of scenes? Do You do public outings with Your sissy slaves and forced feminization clients?

MVQ: I enjoy crossdressing scenes when there isn't a lot of whining done before hand. I have encountered too many crossdressers who beg and plead for reductions in my donation because they some how think they are “special.” I have heard far too many times, “Oh, Mistress, I just want you to dress me up and that’s it.”

Crossdressing is just like any other session: I have to travel to my space and get ready for the time to be spent with the client. I am not the only Mistress in San Francisco Bay Area who has experienced this type of annoyance with crossdressers.

I have had many wonderful sessions with these clients, but a few bad apples have made me toughen up my screening procedures. As far as outings are concerned, I have taken a few sissies out to local bars and establishments that tolerate that sort of thing. I have also gone to places like The Power Exchange with crossdressed clients. I try to maintain a certain level of civility when taking ANY client out into a public place.

Innocent bystanders have NOT consented to be part of our scene, and I try to keep whomever I am with aware of that fact. Case in point: I recently had a potential client contact me regarding getting a makeover done at a local salon.

He inquired as to if I would take him out to such a place for a complete female makeover and transformation. As much as I wanted to seize upon his desires and rush into booking the appointment, I had to remind him that the other patrons in the salon would NOT be told of why he was there or what was being done to him.

Upon further discussion, I became aware that he thought that the other women present would ENJOY watching what was being done to him in the salon chair. I had to gently remind him that he would probably be of no concern to them and they would most likely not care about him whatsoever. That dose of reality got him to reconsider his fantasy.

sb: Your legs and feet are absolutely exquisite. Do You enjoy foot worship?

MVQ: Is the earth round? I adore foot worship in all of its manifestations. There are very few things in life that I enjoy as much as having my feet touched: hands, lips, mouths are all welcome around my toes. You simply can not duplicate the sensations of careful and loving foot adoration via a substance or activity. I only wish I had more foot worshippers who would come to see me. Sadly there has been a bit of a drought as of late...

sb: Wow, that's hard to believe! Do You prefer taunting Your slaves in boots or open toe shoes?

MVQ: I enjoy taunting slaves with both types of footwear. I see too great of a variety of clients to have developed a preference for one over the other. Boots are great for their sheer surface area while open toed shoes showcase my feet and toes in the most tormenting of ways.

sb: Do You like heavy corporal? What is Your favorite implement?

MVQ: I adore heavy corporal! Since most of my local clients can not have even transitory marks, I don't get to really use my arm as much as I’d like to. When I DO get the opportunity to wale on someone, it is the biggest thrill for me.

Currently my favorite implement is my 6 foot Si Davey whip. I received it as a gift for Christmas this past year and I have been enjoying breaking it in. I also love my 3ft David Morgan signal whip. It is a suitable substitute when I can not use the longer whip.

sb: Please tell me a little bit about Your facilities? Do You have any special equipment or devices there You particularly enjoy?

MVQ: I have three total rooms: a soft room for feminization and foot worship, and two complete dungeons. The soft room has an extensive feminine wardrobe in a variety of sizes to accommodate my varied clients.

I also have large-size shoes and boots, wigs, makeup, and jewelry. There is a large mirror that takes up most of one wall and my trampling fans adore that fact that they can watch themselves underfoot from beneath me. The Red Dungeon is the larger of the two SM rooms. It has a whipping post, St Andrew’s cross, rolling bondage table/cage, chain-link kennel, vertical bondage rack, spanking horse, and four-point suspension capability. There is also a throne from which to worship me.

On the walls there are many floggers, whips, restraints, collars, and other items for torture and torment. Hidden in two different cases are the rest of the arsenal that can't be hung up such as clamps, clips, etc.

The Blue Dungeon is slightly smaller but no less-equipped. It has a Y cross, bondage chair, rolling bondage table/cage, jail cell, stockade, and two-point suspension capability. The lighting is a bit more intense in this room and thus I prefer it for interrogation scenes. The Blue Dungeon has it’s own supply of custom floggers color matched to the walls, assorted restraints, collars, and torture devices as in the Red Room.

sb: Wow that's quite an arsenal! Do You have any personal slaves? If so, what qualities do You look for in a personal?

MVQ: I have a collared slave, but he is not my personal. I don't have any personal slaves at the moment.

sb: Can a slave who scenes with You also be photographed if he wishes?

MVQ: Any slave who is willing to sign a model release can be photographed if he wishes.

sb: What kind of slaves do You like the most and least?

MVQ: I could go on for hours on this topic. For the sake of your readers who have made it this far, I will keep my thoughts brief: I enjoy open and honest slaves the most. Saying what you THINK I want to hear is unacceptable.

Be honest with me about what your fantasies are-no matter how bizarre, let me know your fears, let me know when things didn’t go as well as you thought they should have. It’s only through this type of communication that I can better tailor our time together so that we BOTH have an enjoyable outcome.

The types of slaves I enjoy the least are those that are just trying to waste my time. They call up and want to chat for hours about their particular interest, and then never book a session. The others that I loathe are the ones who view a session as a vehicle to try and date me. I will end this portion of my thoughts by simply stating that is a VERY BAD IDEA.

sb: What is Your favorite type of clothing?

MVQ: Isn't if obvious? I LOVE shiny clothing of all shapes and sizes as long as it’s tight and makes me look good. This means that I not only enjoy wearing vinyl, but also polished latex. I have recently developed a love for leather as well. Thus, I am an equal opportunity fetishist now!

sb: Yes that was a dumb question. :) What is the greatest thrill You get from Domination?

MVQ: The greatest thrill I get from Domination is fulfilling someone’s fantasies. It brings me great joy to know that someone who has possibly been mulling over his darkest interests for years has finally found a viable outlet for these feelings. I am quite privileged to know that I am the gate-keeper to many a male’s deepest secrets and desires.

sb: Do you session with novices?

MVQ: I session with novices who have researched BDSM and know how to express their fantasies. I will not see a novice who expects me to explain everything that I am into over the phone or via email. I simply don't have time for it.

sb: What is one of your favorite positions to have a sub in?

MVQ: At the moment I am intrigued with all the possibilities that my spanking horse has to offer. I love the fact that I can securely restrain the hands and feet while keeping the legs spread just far enough apart. This position also gives me access to a slave’s mouth, back, buttocks, nipples, and genitals. What more could a Mistress ask for?

sb: For sure!:) What is your favorite drink?

MVQ: My favorites tend to change over time. Right now I enjoy Fresca as my beverage of choice.

sb: How is the Scene in the S.F. area?

MVQ: It all depends on which type of Scene you are referring to. The private player Scene is alive and well. However, for a variety of reasons, I avoid many of the play parties that are held in the area.

I recently found out about a different “level” of party and I am hoping to attend one soon. Believe it or not, I don't know where all the cool stuff happens in The Scene. As far as the local Fetish Scene goes, it is very dismal. We haven't had a Fetish Ball in at least two years. There are smaller events that occur, but nothing along the likes of the LA Fetish Ball or Black and Blue. I wish that someone would change that situation. Just when my wardrobe is outstanding, there isn't anywhere to show it all off...

sb: That's really a waste. Do You have any videos for sale?

MVQ: I have recently ventured into the realm of commercial BDSM videos. My first one is entitled “Dumb Waiter” and it is a collaboration between me and Ms Christina of Los Angeles.

This video deals with trampling in it’s truest and most raw forms. Three women trample a well-known purveyor of this interest and we show him who is boss. There is face-standing, high-heel trampling, spike-heel trampling, jumping, and foot worship. I am quite proud of our effort and I hope my fans will check it out. sb: What are Your favorite types of gifts?

MVQ: I want anyone thinking of purchasing me a gift to put some thought into it. Yes, it’s easy to pick an item out from my wish list and then send it to me, but there is always room for creativity. One slave brought me a gift from my wish list to his session. What really blew me away was the fact that he searched all over for black wrapping paper and my gift was presented as a shiny, black package.

sb: That is creative! Do You play in Your personal life?

MVQ: I play in my personal life when I find the time. I have been searching for a female submissive for a while, but to no avail. In the mean time, I make due with a few private male players when I attend a play party or event.

sb: What is a really kinky scene that You haven't done yet that You would like to do with a slave?

MVQ: I have yet to play with a post-op transsexual. I am intrigued with the idea of playing with someone who looks like a really hot woman, but who also has a nice set of male genitals. Breast bondage and CBT on the same person is something I've always wanted to do.

sb: Do You also work with Women and couples?

MVQ: I enjoy working with both sexes and mixtures of genders thereof. Couples scenes are particularly gratifying in that I enjoy watching two people further their relationship via kink. As far as women are concerned, I have been looking for a female submissive as a personal play partner for what seems like ages.

I used to have my lovely Assistant to toy with, but she has recently retired from Professional Domination completely and doesn't have time for ANY play any longer. Thus, I keep searching and looking for that special girl to come along to be my slave...

sb: You are without a doubt one of the most beautiful Mistresses in the scene today. Have You ever modeled professionally?

MVQ: That is quite a compliment. I appreciate your remarks about my looks, but the fashion world is not so keen on my body type. I am too short (not 5’10”), and NOT a perfect size 6.

Curves are also not something that you see on models these days...I considered modeling when I was just out of high school but when I did research on what it took, I figured I would save myself the heartbreak and get an education instead.

sb: Oh i think You would have made it easily Mistress. :). i know You have traveled all over. What places have You found the most appealing?

MVQ: Well I haven't traveled TOO far, just within the borders of the US so far. I would have to say that Manhattan is my favorite place to visit so far, with LA following a close second. I love big cities and the variety of entertainment that they have to offer--from museums to night clubs.

sb: What is Your opinion of Mistresses that offer one persona in their sessions and a completely different one in their real life?

MVQ: I believe that all Pro Dommes are in the business of selling a fantasy. In a perfect world our “real” personalities would be perfectly acceptable in the dungeon. However, we deal with individuals who sometimes NEED to be around a Mistress who has a personality that would unreasonable for her to display in the “real world.”

Thus, it isn't really my place to judge how a Mistress acts inside and outside of her dungeon. We all have to make decisions based on our business practices, and for some, that means selling themselves in a certain manner.

sb: What is the one thing in the world that really gets You angry?

MVQ: I would have to say that hypocrites get me quite worked up into a frenzy. Practice what you preach, or stop preaching it. It’s all fine and good to believe in a particular doctrine or dogma, but don't judge others and tell them how to live if you aren't living up to the laws and guidelines of what you spew forth.

sb: What kind of music do You like to listen to in Your spare time? How about during sessions?

MVQ: I have a rather eclectic mix of musical tastes that seem to vary according to my mood more than anything else. My CD collection has everything from Flamenco and opera to heavy metal and industrial. At the moment, I enjoy trance and progressive house for my private listening. In sessions I have found that sound tracks seem to set the mood to my specifications.

sb: i understand You now have a live streaming feed! Please tell us about it?

MVQ: I am very excited about this! I am participating in a live video stream every Wednesday at 7 PM, PST. It will go on for an hour and each scene will be archived for viewing later. Keep in mind that this is ON DEMAND viewing and not random rebroadcasts.

Once you have access to the members area, you can watch an archived stream whenever you wish. You also have the option to start, stop, and view the video from whichever point you wish. The software is akin to a VCR. I have viewed the streams on a slow, dial-up connection and I was impressed with the results. Thus, there isn't any reason to NOT join up.
